If you are a ghost,
Please come and follow me
We've no more time to sit
On the banks 'neath the Old Pear Tree
Come, come and follow me
Come, onto the barge now,
It is time to make our way
To the shores of Elysium, or Hell
Where you shall evermore stay
Please come and follow me
We've no more time to sit
On the banks 'neath the Old Pear Tree
Come, come and follow me
Come, onto the barge now,
It is time to make our way
To the shores of Elysium, or Hell
Where you shall evermore stay

HAHAHA when was the last time i posted (or even wrote) poetry???
i like guide-to-the-next-world type characters in mythology. this one is obviously drawn a bit more from Charon (in role if not demeanor) than anything else (Elysium being lifted directly from the Greek) but it kinda works for any myth with a similar figure or with death being a body of water to cross to get into the afterlife.
this one is one of the more recent ones but it was still written a while ago. oh well.
(also, to my consistent watchers: first thing i post in over a month and it's my terrible freaking "poetry." HAHA SUCKS TO BE YOU GUYS i am so so sorry OTL )

I like it!
It sounds like one of those creepy inscriptions one can read on a tomb or something.
